To China... and Beyond!
Yunnan (云南)
I traveled to Yunnan Province for a week in October, 2008, and it was one of the best trips I've been on in China. We stopped in Kunming and Lijiang, but the highlight of our trip was four days at the Wenhai Ecolodge outside of Lijiang. There are many other opportunities for trekking in Yunnan, but if you're looking for a place that's ever-so-slightly off-the-beaten-track, head to Wenhai.
